Southern sandstone venues

The hidden goldmine in the South East.

Our local crags

Southern Sandstone in the South East of England offers some of the country’s most unique and challenging climbing experiences. Found primarily in Kent and East Sussex, this sandstone is renowned for its delicate, often friable nature, requiring climbers to adopt a different technique compared to other rock types. The rock formations here are typically short, ranging between 6 to 15 metres in height, but what they lack in size, they make up for in technical difficulty and precision.
