Come and join us for rock climbing holiday to Swanage in Dorset, where you’ll experience sea cliff climbing in its rawest form. The adventure as you abseil over the edge to reach your climbs can not be described, especially as the waves crash below you!
We will be based in the beautiful seaside town of Swanage which is perfectly situated for access to all the best crags from Durlston Country Park all the way to Worth Matravers. Plus the fish and chips are exactly what you need after an awesome day climbing.
About Swanage
Swanage is a small seaside town situated in the South East of Dorset. It is an extremely popular tourist destination with its award winning sandy beaches and stunning countryside over the cliffs. It’s accessible by road from Wareham or via the Sandbanks chain ferry near Poole and Bournemouth. Swanage is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Coastline (England’s first) and its famous limestone cliffs boast some fantastic climbing.
Rock Type
The rocks that make up the climbing areas of Swanage and Portland are Limestone and are part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Limestone typically has smaller sharper edged holds and the crags generally have steep faces.
